Albert supermarket
Albert entered the Czech market in 1990 as Euronova, a.s. and in 1991 it opened its first Mana supermarket in Jihlava, which was historically the first supermarket in the Czech Republic. In 1999, it already operated Hypernova hypermarkets and supermarkets, which were renamed Albert. In 2005, Albert strengthened its position on the Czech market by taking over 57 Julius Meinl stores. In order for the company to present itself uniformly, in 2009 the brand was unified into the Albert supermarket and the Albert hypermarket. The acquisition was closed on 1 August 2014, when the Albert retail chain took over SPAR ČOS. With this step, he became one of the leaders in the retail market in the Czech Republic. In 2016, Albert merged with the Delhaize Group.
